Even though I only go out shopping like once in a purple moon, one of my favourite places to visit while in Orchard Road is The Cathay. Unlike its counterpart Cathay Cineleisure, which is usually flooded with teenagers, and very youth-centric theme, The Cathay is much easier to walk around and there is a nice mix of lifestyle, entertainment and F&B shops suited for the young and the young at heart to enjoy.

Music is something I must wake up to everyday, so the first place I would go to is Gramophone to check out the new music so I can catch up on the latest trends in music, and also look for some cool alternative music like jazz or classical tunes.

Next, I will head down (literally) to the basement and pump up my energy levels with toast, noodles, pizza or other yummy food that is down under, and thereafter, head back up to cool down with some Ben & Jerry’s before continuing on my shopping adventure.

Chugging along, since beauty & fashion and I have no chemistry, I play hide and seek with the escalators and visit the weird and different stores, CLIQUE, Artica and woodwould and try to experience a life specially different and unique.

And finally after all that fabulous food had properly settled in my stomach, I head further up the retail ladder towardsFitness First and work it out and pump it up and get a great workout done so I will be fit and fab, and be healthier.

To wrap up my arduous day,  I head to Starbucks Coffee and have a cuppa and relax before I head off to meet my friends or family for dinner, and that’s how I usually spend my shopping weekends.

Psychology of Creativity

I decided to push back my weekly posting schedule from Friday to Sunday or Monday so that I will have more time to write the article or post and also be able to provide a more accurate weekly recap, and be able to more thoroughly write the article.

Also, I have moved back to WordPress on my main site as I felt more comfortable with using it after testing other blog platforms. The blog will now be part of the website only, so I can start developing my freelance business website here too.

Furthermore, I had originally intended to start recording my weekly podcast for this week’s blog post but due to schoolwork disrupting all my schedule, the podcast would have to put on hold till I have settled my school stuff.

Lastly, I am using a dual blog mode, with WordPress + Tumblr instead of just having a blog only. This system would allow me to have a mirror of the content of the blog and thus I would have a backup of the content so it would not get destroyed while I experiment with WordPress or Tumblr.

There might be many more changes to how I blog or what happens to my blog, but my only goal for now is to write an article or blog post a week. Over the next few weeks, I will slowly start moving this blog to a more article-based blog, but I will see how it goes from here when I have the time to write again.

The long New Year’s weekend was used quite effectively, and I was very pleased with myself because I managed to complete most of my assignments and thus the week started off on a fairly light note.

However, Monday was when all the joy was killed. My HR test results was returned and I did fairly badly, and it was far from my goal and expectations and my motivation for the week just nearly diminished totally.

Tuesday was slightly better off, even though it was the first test of 2010, I was able to answer the questions properly and I am quite confident of being able to score for this paper, and I hope it would be the best paper I did for this semester too.

And well, the rest of the week was spent writing up two reports, one for my attachment and the other for my cross-disciplinary subject. It was very challenging for me, not because of the number of words or the content inside, but because I haven’t actually been writing for a very long time already, and starting to write from start for reports of about 2000 words will be quite a test of my brain juices.

I survived through it and managed to come up with favourable results, which was a refreshing change from having to rewrite the attachment report from the scratch again, and finally getting the nod of approval was a good way to end off the week.

And so that was my week of up-and-downs and I really hope that I can improve myself further in the next few weeks especially for time management.

I will be starting this off with making new year’s resolutions. I have stopped making new resolutions for a few years now because I find that I will not follow them, or much less, care less about it at all.

I have even given up writing resolutions as they are the same year in year out, good results, be neater, be more hardworking, lose weight; its been this same list for so many years but I have not really cared much about the resolutions I make, and towards the end of the year whether I have achieved them or not.

This year, however, I want to tweak my old practice and come up with some resolutions for 2010, because I wanted to experiment with something new and/or different so my life won’t always just revolve around school and work purely already.

1. Write a new blog post/article at least once a week.
   For so many years with a website/weblog, I have not been successful writing a blog regularly, and that’s what I want to try this year, and I’ve even joined Project 52 to help/push myself to write more regularly.
2. Start a freelance business.
   I’ve been wanting to do this for quite long, but have no time and resources to really work on it, so this year, I’m planning to give it a trial run and see how it goes. If the business succeeds, I might continue it. If not, well, I’ll see how.
3. Record a regular bilingual podcast.
   This is for me to practice my speaking and also to maintain my Mandarin standard so it would not deteriorate further after not using it for about 2 years now.

And so that was my new year’s resolutions. I’m not sure how they would progress, how they might end up, or what might happen in between, but I’ll just try my best to start and maintain it and see how it all goes.
